(ANSA) - ROMA, 03 OTT - On the occasion of the 33rd edition of the International Music Festival, the Italian Embassy in Manama, in cooperation with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (Baca), organised the jazz music concert 'Luca Velotti meets Silvia Manco' at the Cultural Hall. The concert, dedicated to the celebration of Italian music, featured two renowned artists: Luca Velotti, an eclectic musician, composer, master saxophonist and jazz clarinetist, and Silvia Manco, a multifaceted and well-known pianist, singer and composer, who enjoy a fame that transcends Italian borders and boast an admirable artistic experience of wide international scope.
Luca Velotti, together with Paolo Conte, has performed on important international stages, developing collaborations with artists such as Ennio Morricone, Nicola Piovani and Armando Trovajoli. Silvia Manco has collaborated with renowned artists including Enrico Rava, Roberto Gatto, Max Ionata, Maurizio Giammarco, Lino Patruno, Dezron Douglas and Gegé Telesforo in Europe, the United States and the Middle East.
In inaugurating the concert, which was widely attended, the Ambassador of Italy to Bahrain, Andrea Catalano, said: 'I am very grateful to the President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, for the consolidated collaboration with the Embassy and Italy and for once again opening the doors of the Cultural Hall to two Italian music talents. With the choice of two well-known jazz artists, we wanted to emphasise how Italian excellence in the artistic field spans across the board, as our country is capable of expressing talent in every musical genre, including those not traditionally associated with Italy but which, thanks to its ancient and well-known artistic and cultural tradition, manages to reach peaks of excellence in all fields, of which Luca Velotti and Silvia Manco are an expression." "Tonight's concert also confirms the solid and fruitful collaboration with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities," Ambassador Catalano continued, "which on the one hand supports the promotion of Italian culture, history and art in Bahrain and the Gulf, and on the other enriches the Kingdom's cultural offer for the benefit of all citizens and residents."
