Italian language week, second cycle of courses in Georgia

(ANSA) - ROMA, 16 OTT - On Tuesday, 15 October, an event was held at the Technical University of Georgia to celebrate the 24th Italian Language Week in the World, an annual initiative under the high patronage of the President of the Italian Republic.
    At the event, organised by the Tbilisi committee of the Dante Alighieri Society, the second cycle of free Italian language training courses for teachers and students of the Gtu was presented, realised within the framework of the cooperation MoU between the committee and the university and financed by the Dante Alighieri Society of Rome.
    In the presence of numerous guests, including university lecturers and students - reads a note from the embassy - the rector of the university Davit Gurgenidze, the Italian ambassador Massimiliano D'Antuono and the president of the committee of the Dante Alighieri Society of Tbilisi, Nino Tsertvadze, spoke.
    In his speech, Ambassador D'Antuono, while thanking the Gtu and the committee of the Dante Alighieri Society of Tbilisi, emphasised the importance of the initiative in spreading the Italian language in the country. "In light of the growing interest of Georgians in the Italian language and culture, the role of this project is crucial, as it represents a further stimulus for the promotion and teaching of the Italian linguistic heritage in Georgia," said D'Antuono.
