(ANSA) - ROMA, 18 OTT - The Italian Embassy in Doha, Qatar, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (Mcti), organised the third edition of 'La Festa della Repubblica dei Piccoli'. This was announced by the Foreign Ministry, emphasising that on the occasion of the 'Settimana della Lingua Italiana nel Mondo', the event - held yesterday at ACS International School Doha - was dedicated to Italian and Qatari children between the ages of 3 and 12 and offered "both interactive workshops" and "cultural activities, with the aim of promoting in the younger generations the profound value of the friendship that unites Italy and Qatar".
Thanks to the support of Mcti through Studio 5, the event focused on 'Technology&Culture' with activities inspired by Italian and Qatari culture that gave young participants the opportunity to explore technology and innovation through four thematic workshops. The activity was implemented in cooperation with ACS International School Doha, which has been running a comprehensive programme of curricular and extracurricular workshops dedicated to Italian culture since September. Activities included interactive language games focused on Italian vocabulary (specifically related to book vocabulary or quotations from Italian literature), cultural quizzes on Italian books, and role-playing games to converse in Italian. In addition, the children created posters inspired by Italian culture and participated in multimedia presentations, where students produced a video interviewing peers about Italian words.
"We are pleased to celebrate, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the third edition of the Day of the Republic for Children. This event," said Italian Ambassador Paolo Toschi, who spoke together with his wife, Federica Cellini Toschi, "not only strengthens the cultural ties between Italy and Qatar, but also offers young people a unique opportunity to explore the beauty and richness of our traditions while discovering the technologies of the future. The participation and enthusiasm of the children is the best testimony of our shared aspiration to promote creativity and intercultural dialogue'.
