Amb. Formosa inaugurates Italian Language Week in Kiev

(ANSA) - ROMA, 19 OTT - With a meeting with all the Italian students of the major universities in Kiev, the Italian ambassador to Ukraine Carlo Formosa inaugurated the packed programme of initiatives marking the 24th Week of the Italian Language in the World in Ukraine.
    During the meeting, held in the Aula Magna of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, with the Rectors of the institutes and the Professors of the Italian language departments, the title of the 2024 edition of the Week, "Italian and the book: the world between the lines", was discussed.
    During the discussion, the ambassador emphasised the crucial importance of the Italian language and its literature not only in language learning, but also in the cultural and professional training of young people. "The book, and in particular the great Italian literary tradition, is not only a source of information, but a medium that allows you to undertake real journeys through history, culture and the values that define our country, making it precious lymph that will nourish the friendship between our peoples over the years".
