Ambassador Crudele meets Australian Prime Minister Albanese

(ANSA) - ROMA, 28 OTT - On the occasion of the Norton Street Italian Festa in Sydney, an event dedicated to the Italian community of New South Wales organised by Co.As. It of Sydney, the Italian Ambassador Paolo Crudele met the Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
    The Italian Festa,' the embassy said in a note, 'takes place annually and represents a prominent showcase of 'Italian living' for the whole of Australia, where the Sydney community gathers and celebrates its history. During the meeting with Albanese, Ambassador Crudele had the opportunity to share with the Prime Minister the initiatives that the embassy and the consular network in Australia are putting in place to improve the delivery of consular services and to promote the Italian language and culture.
    "The Co.As.It in Sydney is an essential player in the institutional action aimed at promoting the interests of the Italian community in New South Wales," said the ambassador. "Prime Minister Albanese, for his part, has always shown lively attention and closeness to our communities in Australia, also because of his Italian origin, which he cares about very much." The local authorities estimated the flow of participants during the day at around two hundred thousand people, who were able to attend musical performances and promotional events organised all along Norton Street, in the historic Italian district of Leikhardt.
