4 November celebrations in Kiev

(ANSA) - ROMA, 05 NOV - The National Unity and Armed Forces Day celebrations took place in Kiev, promoted by the Military Attaché at the Italian Embassy, Colonel Igor Torti.
    Ambassador Carlo Formosa emphasised how the 4 November recurrence reminds Italy today not only of the military victory achieved in 1918, but above all of the effort to defend freedom and independence, as well as the attainment of national unity, longed for for centuries. Values that can be found in Ukrainian self-defence in the face of brutal Russian aggression. "Italy is engaged in Ukraine, as in many other international contexts, in a constant quest for peace, dialogue and the promotion of human rights," the Ambassador added, also recalling the support provided by Rome to Kiev in every aspect with a view to achieving a just and lasting peace.
    Ambassador Formosa also extended heartfelt thanks to the Italian military personnel who guarantee the security and operability of the Italian diplomatic mission in Ukraine every day.
