(ANSA) - VARSAVIA, 05 NOV - On the occasion of National Unity and Armed Forces Day, the Italian Ambassador to Poland Luca Franchetti Pardo, accompanied by the Defence Attaché Stefano Cavaliere, yesterday honoured the Italian Fallen from all wars by laying a laurel wreath at the Italian Military Cemetery in Bielany in Warsaw.
During the solemn ceremony, in the presence of the military and religious authorities, Franchetti Pardo paid a heartfelt tribute to the thousands of Italian soldiers who fell during the First and Second World Wars and who rest in Bielany.
In this regard, he recalled the words of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella: 'Their memory sounds an exhortation to the civil conscience of the country, especially to the younger generations, so that they know how to walk the path of commitment to the defence of the values of the Constitution'.
