(ANSA) - BUENOS AIRES, 14 NOV - Now in its ninth edition, the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World (Scim) will be present this year in Argentina with numerous initiatives also in the city of Rosario.
Thanks to the organisation of the Consulate General of Italy, the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Italian Cooperation, which this year has as its central theme 'Mediterranean Diet and Roots Cuisine: Health and Tradition', includes a programme of tastings, exhibitions and cultural meetings, which 'explores the links between Italian cuisine and the identity of Italian descendants abroad'.
The launch of Scim was also preceded on 7 November by the exhibition 'Tales of Roots', coinciding with the start of the traditional celebration of foreign communities in Rosario.
In the city that is the birthplace of Lionel Messi, the Week will continue on 15 November with an event at the Consulate General entitled 'Gastronomy and tradition: the cuisine of the roots', dedicated to the rediscovery of typical dishes linked to the Italian tradition, with chefs Santiago Cernitagoya and Pablo Sapene, while on 17 November, a special evening entitled 'Words and flavours: the pizza of the roots', where pizza becomes a symbol of union and cultural exchange, is scheduled at the Fondazione Italia.
Numerous gastronomic establishments in Rosaria will take part in the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, offering menus and dishes dedicated to traditional Italian cuisine from 16 November.
