(ANSA) - NEW DELHI, 19 NOV - The Consulate General of Italy in Kolkata inaugurated the week of Italian Cuisine in the World with a special event, organised in collaboration with the descendants of the royal family of Mayurbhanj, in the eastern Indian state of Odisha, in the setting of the Belgadia Palace, the sumptuous Victorian residence owned by the family.
The dinner, inspired by the Mediterranean Diet, was prepared by chef Fiammetta Maggio, while sommelier Giulia Biscontin oversaw the choice of wines.
"Heartfelt thanks to Belgadia Palace for hosting this special event, which builds a bridge between two rich cultural traditions," said the Consul General in his welcome message to the participants. The Consul also recalled that the Mediterranean Diet has been included in the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
