(ANSA) - CITTÀ DEL MESSICO, 20 NOV - Italian Ambassador to Mexico City Alessandro Modiano said that the important constitutional reforms recently approved in Mexico represent measures of an institutional nature that should not affect the negotiation process related to the modernisation of the agreement between the Latin American country and the European Union, aimed at intensifying trade relations.
"It is a negotiation that I would define as more of a commercial nature," Modiano told the newspaper Milenio, "and has nothing to do with the recent reforms, which could have a certain impact on investments, but this will depend on how they are implemented.
"The new Mexican government has expressed its intention to finalise the agreement in a reasonable timeframe," the diplomat added.
