(ANSA) - CARACAS, 20 NOV - The Week of Italian Cuisine in the World (Scim), organised by the Italian Embassy in Venezuela in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute in Caracas and the ITA Agency, the Venezuelan-Italian Chamber of Commerce, and the organisms of the Italian system, kicked off on 15 November in Venezuela with an event dedicated to typical Versilia dishes.
The programme, reports a note, 'promotes Italian gastronomy, emphasising its cultural and identity value. Health and a well-balanced diet are also the leitmotif of the initiatives conducted in collaboration with counterparts such as the Andrés Bello Catholic University, schools and high schools where Italian is taught.
Ambassador Giovanni Umberto De Vito emphasised how the Venezuelan public is - once again - particularly receptive to Italian cuisine, highlighting the attention devoted this year to food education and the training of young people. 'Italian cuisine is appreciated around the world as an example of a healthy, balanced diet that can guarantee high quality standards for products of habitual consumption. We are ready to share our expertise in nutrition and the good practices that make us a reference model with universities, research centres and specialised bodies,' said De Vito.
The programme alternates conferences and meetings with dynamic experiences such as thematic dinners, tastings and master classes with the participation from Italy of chef Marta Meo.
