(ANSA) - VILNIUS, 22 NOV - The 9th edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World (Scim) took place in Tallinn with the theme 'Mediterranean Diet and Roots Cuisine: Health and Tradition'. The protagonist of the Scim, organised by the Italian Embassy in Tallinn and Ice in Stockholm, was Italian chef Davide Larise, who held a masterclass for students and professionals at the Teko Institute in Tallinn, the main culinary training centre in Estonia since 1945.
Larise, flanked by Jacopo Bistocchi, also curated the menus for a special event organised by the embassy at the same institute, where the chef presented a series of typical Italian dishes reinterpreted in a modern key, demonstrating how Italian cuisine knows how to evolve without losing its link to tradition and history. The event was also attended by the Association of Estonian Chefs and its president, Taigo Lepik, personal chef to the President of the Republic of Estonia.
