(ANSA) - SKOPJE, 24 NOV - On 22 November, the "Nikola Karev" High School in Skopje celebrated the end of its 80th birthday celebrations with a ceremony held at the National Film Library of North Macedonia, to which numerous guests and institutional representatives were invited, including the Mayor of the City of Skopje, Danela Arsovska, and the Italian Ambassador Andrea Silvestri.
The event - the Embassy reported in a note - opened with the greetings of the Headmaster, Andrej Manolev, who in his speech expressed his satisfaction with the important growth of this school institution, attributing it to the inexhaustible dedication of the teaching staff and the strong sense of belonging of the students.
In thanking him for the recognition, the Italian Ambassador valorised the commitment of the Liceo to the dissemination of the Italian language and culture in the country and of its management, which has been able to recognise the great potential of our language for the cultural and professional growth of the students. For these reasons, Silvestri took the solemn occasion to confer on Headmaster Manolev the honour of Cavaliere dell'Ordine della Stella d'Italia (Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy) for his particular merits in promoting Italian in the country.
