Al Sisi with foreign businessmen, focus on food security

(ANSA) - ROMA, 26 NOV - Egypt is questioning its economic future and, as part of the Annual International Manifacturing Convention and Exhibition (IMCE) event, President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi received a small delegation of entrepreneurs from various countries, including Italy, in Cairo. The meeting also discussed the Mattei Plan, which sees the Italian government committed not only to food security but more generally to the country and the entire area.

    The meeting took place just a few weeks after the inauguration of the first local farmers' market realised thanks to the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the technical assistance of Ciheam Bari and Campagna amica of Coldiretti. The small farmers' market is the most important in Egypt and Africa. Within the framework of this collaboration project, to which others may follow, Egyptian farmers will be able to sell their products directly in the country's populous cities thanks to a dedicated distribution channel.
