(ANSA) - CITTÀ DEL MESSICO, 26 NOV - The Embassy and the Chamber of Commerce of Mexico in Italy present the first edition of the Premio d'eccellenza México-Italia 2024, an initiative that aims to valorise entrepreneurial and cultural contributions that have significantly stimulated the development of relations between the two countries.
The ceremony will be held tonight, 26 November, in the grand ballroom of the Hotel St. Regis in Rome as part of the México-Italia Business & Investment Forum and will be attended by high-profile representatives from the institutional, corporate and cultural worlds.
The awards, divided into several categories, will be presented on this occasion to the Manni Group for innovation and sustainability, the Bimbo Group for commercial expansion, and Zoomarine for Italian-Mexican collaboration.
Awards will also be presented for merit in the cultural and social spheres, to highlight the contribution of personalities and organisations.
The winners are renowned star chef Karime López, of Gucci Osteria in Florence, and Televisa Univisión journalist Valentina Alazraki.
For the third sector, Patricia Govea, a well-known Mexican fashion designer, will be honoured. On this occasion, she will be recognised as president of the 'Unidas por un Sueño' Foundation, which has helped more than 7,000 women to become entrepreneurs from handicraft activities.
"The Business and Investment Forum convened by the Mexico Chamber of Commerce in Italy, which will conclude with this ceremony, is the tangible result of how in such a short time this reality has become remarkably relevant, and I am pleased to see that it has grown a great deal in quantity and quality," said Mexico's Ambassador to Italy, Carlos García de Alba.
"The Business Forum with authoritative Mexican and Italian speakers in the afternoon and the gala dinner in the evening for the awarding of the Award of Excellence encapsulates the great work done over the last two years by the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in Italy, CaMexItal," said its president, Letizia Magaldi.
