Argentina, Star Food at the National Space Day

(ANSA) - BUENOS AIRES, 27 NOV - As part of the 4th edition of National Space Day - which commemorates the first Italian artificial satellite launched into orbit on 16 December 1964 - the Italian Ambassador to Argentina, Fabrizio Lucentini, in collaboration with Eat Freedom and Telespazio, opened the celebrations with the 'Space Food Experience' event.
    The initiative promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation was hosted at the Buenos Aires headquarters of Telespazio, a leading Italian company in the sector.
    Attendees were presented with an essay, by engineer Sara Rocci Denis, founder of Eat Freedom, on the evolution of food for astronauts on the International Space Station, a master class, and a three-course tasting, prepared by Italian chef Stefano Polato, with wines from the Atamisque and Cave Extrême wineries to match.
    The initiative was aimed at scientific and gastronomic journalists and experts working in the space sector, a priority area for collaboration between Italy and Argentina, as demonstrated by the Italo-Argentine System of Satellites for Emergency Management (Siasge), a unique structure in the world.
    In addition to Ambassador Lucentini, Telespazio's Country Manager in Argentina Nicolas de Gracia and the President of the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (Conicet) Daniel Salamone attended. The proceedings were introduced by Raúl Kulichevskij, executive and technical director of the National Commission for Space Activities (Conae), with a presentation on the state of space collaboration between Argentina and Italy.
    The event comes at the end of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, because Italian cuisine is memory but also technology at the service of the greatest adventures.
