(ANSA) - ROMA, 29 NOV - The Italian Consulate General in Bahia Blanca, Argentina, has proposed an original homage to maestro Giacomo Puccini, in the framework of the centenary of his death. This was announced by the Farnesina, emphasising that a multimedia show dedicated to the personal and artistic history of Maestro Puccini was organised in the setting of La Paloma, a historical building in Bahia Blanca.
Prof. Enrique Caride (an expert and music critic, a long-time collaborator of the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires) presented, through images and video documents of the time, original features of Maestro Puccini, anecdotes related to some of his greatest successes, from Tosca to Madama Butterfly and Turandot.
In the presence of institutional representatives and a large audience of enthusiasts, the links between Puccini and Argentina were also highlighted, with his visit to Buenos Aires.
The numerous participants had the opportunity to taste a typical Italian menu with a gala dinner that accompanied the cultural event, thus connecting the musical culture with the culture of Italian gastronomy, as Consul General Nicola Bazzani extensively emphasised in his introduction, pointing out that the latter is celebrated all over the world thanks to the Italian Cuisine Week right now.
