'Bilateral relations are growing'

(ANSA) - ROMA, 16 DIC - "Vietnam continues to offer a market and investment opportunity. What needs to be said is that a country that grows like this year between 6. 5 and 7% is a country that is changing, so it becomes more demanding, more difficult in its development plans, we need to make an effort in terms of targeted investments, of policies tailored to a country that is increasingly in demand by our competitors". Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Marco Della Seta told ANSA on the sidelines of the States General of Diplomacy at the Farnesina.
"The state of bilateral relations between Italy and Vietnam is certainly good and growing. Last year we celebrated 50 years of diplomatic relations and ten years of strategic partnership. The interchange goes beyond 600 billion dollars, it is very satisfactory, direct Italian investments are more or less 150 and range from Fincantieri to Piaggio, from Generali to Ariston, and then there are also many other investments by small and medium-sized enterprises, both in the pharmaceutical and textile sectors and also in high technologies,' the ambassador stressed, recalling that relations also pass through culture, on which there are already new developments in the pipeline: "One project for the future is the opening of an Italian institute of culture, on which we are working, which I believe is the main objective to have more means, both human and financial, to continue to satisfy this quest for Italian culture."
