(ANSA) - LONDRA, 18 DIC - The new Ambassador of Italy in Dublin Nicola Faganello presented the letters of credentials to the President of Ireland Michael Higgins. During the ceremony, held in the Presidential Palace Áras an Uachtaráin, the bonds of deep friendship between Italy and Ireland were highlighted, the recent visit of President Mattarella to Ireland last May and the excellent bilateral relations with particular reference to the importance and commitment to further strengthen the cultural and commercial cooperation between the two countries.
"Together with the Embassy team, Sistema Italia and the companies present here," said Faganello, "we will strive to develop the already excellent bilateral relations and to contribute together with our Irish friends to the future of the European Union," also in view of the Irish rotating presidency of the EU Council in 2026 and the Italian rotating presidency of the EU Council in 2028.
