Clean State 'honors' terror victims

Italy never renounced values of State governed by rule of law

(ANSA) - Rome, May 9 - The fight against corruption and illegality must be conducted in honour of the victims of terrorism, House Speaker Laura Boldrini said on Terrorism Victims Remembrance Day Monday.
"To honour those who sacrificed their life it is necessary to make the institutions and politics increasingly clean and sober. ..to combat corruption, illegality, wrongdoing without hesitation, to give voice to the many people who honestly and generously engage in politics, in voluntary work, who defend the common good. We are not all the same," Boldrini said. "Italy has seen hundreds die at the hands of terrorists, but in the end it beat them without ever renouncing the values of a State subject to the rule of law. A democratic state can never make the violent and unhuman logic of its enemies its own," she added.
