No alternative to migrant quotas

(ANSA) - Rome, May 9 - There is no alternative to migrant quotas to manage the EU's refugee and migrant emergency, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini told a Rome forum with former president Giorgio Napolitano Monday.
    "The quota mechanism is the only way to share responsibility," in the management of migrant flows, she said.
    Other parts of solving the problem are: fighting migrant smugglers in the Mediterranean, which "we are doing well"; supporting countries of origin and transit; the reform of the Dublin treaty; and integration policies, she said.
