Carige decree gives guarantees up to 3bn

(ANSA) - Rome, January 9 - The government's emergency decree to support troubled Italian bank Carige has been published in the official gazette after being signed by President Sergio Mattarella on Tuesday. The decree features State guarantees on new Carige bonds issued before June 30 of up to three billion euros. There is also a public fund of 1.3 billion euros to cover bond costs and a possible precautionary recapitalization of up to one billion euros.
