(ANSA) - Brussels, March 12 - A row over Italy's possibly
joining China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the 'new Silk
Road', is "a storm in a teacup", Economy Minister Giovanni Tria
said Tuesday.
The US and the EU have voiced concern about Italy joining the
BRI.
But Tria stressed Italy-Chinese talks were only on a possible
memorandum of understanding, "and not a deal".
The memorandum would not change EU rules, he said.
