(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 1 - The OECD said in its latest economic
outlook on Wednesday that it sees Italy's GDP rising 6.3% this
year.
"The strong 2021 rebound from COVID-19 is forecast to ease
progressively in 2022 and 2023, with growth of 4.6% and 2.6%,"
the OECD said.
Italy posted negative growth of 8.9% last year due to the
COVID-19 pandemic.
"The recovery is expected to benefit from supportive fiscal
policy, including investment financed through Next Generation EU
funds, and progressively normalising services activity," the
outlook said.
"A gradual rise in employment should support steady consumption
growth. The recent increase in headline inflation is expected
to moderate, but core inflation is forecast to rise as spare
capacity declines and purchasing power increases". (ANSA).
