(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 22 - The Holy See would be welcome to
mediate in the Ukraine-Russian war, President Volodymyr
Zelensky told Pope Francis via telephone on Tuesday, the
president said on his Twitter account.
"The Holy See's mediation role in putting an end to the human
suffering would be welcomed," said Zelensky.
Thanking the pope was his prayers for Ukraine and peace,
Zelensky described the "difficult humanitarian situation and the
blockade of rescue corridors by Russian troops," the president
said.
During the conversation, Zelensky invited the pontiff to visit
Ukraine. (ANSA).
