(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 5 - Italian President Sergio Mattarella
linked Sunday's Marmolada glacier disaster in northern Italy to
the climate crisis during a visit to Mozambique on Tuesday.
"We have spoken of the Marmolada tragedy as an element that is
symbolic of what climate change, if not governed, is producing
around the world," Mattarella said in Maputo beside Mozambique
President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi
"It requires everyone's full cooperation, otherwise it is not
governed.
"There are countries that are not making efforts (on this
front).
"It is necessary to call on everyone to make further
commitments.
"There is no hope without everyone's cooperation".
Seven people are confirmed to have died after a massive chunk of
the glacier broke away, causing a deadly avalanche of ice and
rock.
The death toll looks set to rise as 13 people are still missing.
