(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 2 - Democratic Party (PD) leader Enrico
Letta and former industry ministry Carlo Calenda, the head of
the centrist Azione group, reached an agreement for a pact for
the September 25 general election, Azione sources said Tuesday.
Under the agreement, the parties agreed not to field candidates
that could be considered "divisive" in seats decided on a
uninominal (first-past-the-post) basis.
