(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 22 - The White House has said it does not
expect Italy's policy of supporting Ukraine following the
Russian invasion to change after Sunday's general election here.
"We don't think that Italy will in any way break ranks from the
Western coalition of countries that support Ukraine, whatever
the outcome of the vote is," a White House official told
reporters on the fringes of the UN General Assembly.
"The American president will have to talk immediately with
whoever the new prime minister in Italy is, understand what they
are like and what this means". (ANSA).
