(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 3 - Premier Giorgia Meloni stressed the
need for the European Union to take decisive action to address
the energy crisis on Thursday, when she is making her Brussels
debut with meetings with European Commission President Ursula
von der Leyen and other officials.
"Today I will be in Brussels to meet the heads of the European
institutions," Meloni said via social media.
"The voice of Italy in Europe will be strong: we are ready to
address the major issues, starting with the energy crisis,
cooperating for a fast, effective solution to support families
and business and put the brakes on speculation". Meloni will
also see European Council Charles Michel and European Parliament
President Roberta Metsola in her first trip abroad since she
became Italy's first woman premier after her Brothers of Italy
(FdI) party spearheaded the centre-right coalition's victory in
the September 25 general election. (ANSA).
