(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 28 - The 2023 budget bill has been framed
in record time in a race against time but succeeds in setting
all the priorities for budgetary, fiscal and economic action,
Premier Giorgia Meloni said Monday.
"A month after taking office, the government has already opened
talks with the production categories," she said, referring to
unions and employers.
"We would have liked (to have) more time to discuss issues with
each other before the budget, but it was a race against time, in
a very very tight time frame.
"We had to write this budget bill while outlining as clear a
trajectory as possible, giving an indication of the priorities
of our action".
Meloni was speaking by video link to the general assembly of
Confindustria Veneto Est, the northeastern area's industrial
employers' gathering. (ANSA).
