(ANSA) - ROME, APR 18 - Premier Giorgia Meloni on Tuesday
opened the 61st Milan Furniture Fair at the FieraMilano
trade-fair centre in the nearby town of Rho.
It is the world's biggest trade fair of its kind and a huge
showcase for Italian design.
"I couldn't miss it," Meloni told reporters.
"I've been here many times and I couldn't fail to come for the
first one for me as premier.
"It's not just an extraordinary showcase to the world for
Italian excellence, but it is also a fair that encompasses many
of the strategic issues that the government is working on.
"Obviously, these include the defence of the Italian
entrepreneurial system and the defence of our brand, which we
have put at the centre of our main strategic directives.
"There are many companies here with high levels of
manufacturing.
"We are in a world in which an increase in production comes with
an increase on employment.
"We must incentive an increase in employment in relation to
revenue". (ANSA).
