(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 30 - The leaders of the parliamentary
parties opposed to Premier Giorgia Meloni's government said
Friday that they have agreed to present a bill for the
introduction of the minimum wage in Italy.
"The need for an intervention to guarantee adequate earnings for
workers, especially those in conditions of poverty in part
because of inflation, is a representative element of our
election manifestos," said a statement by ex-premier and 5-Star
Movement (M5S) leader Giuseppe Conte, centre-left Democratic
Party chief Elly Schlein, Nicola Fratoianni of the Italian Left
(SI), Matteo Richetti of Azione, Angelo Bonelli of the Greens
and Riccardo Magi of +Europa.
"For this reason we have worked in a proposal that will present
in the Lower House in the coming days". (ANSA).
