(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 14 - Italy's Ambassador to Iran Giuseppe
Perrone has been summoned by the Iranian foreign ministry due to
the participation of a dissident at event in the Italian
parliament, the IRNA news agency said on Friday.
The question regards the presence of Maryam Rajavi, leader of
the exiled opposition Mojahedin-e-Khalq Organization (MKO), at
an event organized by the Luigi Einaudi Foundation.
The ambassador was told that "hosting a criminal terrorist
amounts to encouraging and promoting terrorism and the Islamic
Republic will not tolerate moves of this type by anyone and
expresses serious condemnation," IRNA reported. (ANSA).
