(See related stories on Israel-Hamas war) (ANSA) - ROME, OCT 25 - Deputy Premier and Transport and Industry Minister Matteo Salvini on Wednesday hit out at Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for saying he considered Hamas to be "liberators" fighting for their land rather than terrorists.
Salvini said Erdogan's words were "serious and disgusting and do not help de-escalation." He added that he would ask Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani to summon the Turkish ambassador and lodge a formal protest. (ANSA).
