(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 7 - The European Commission has requested
information about the details of the agreement Rome and Tirana
have signed for Italy to set up migrant centres in Albania, a
spokesperson for the EU executive said on Tuesday.
"We are in contact with the Italian authorities.
"Before commenting further we need to understand what exactly
the intention is".
The spokeswoman stressed that the Commission had been informed
of the agreement before it was signed on Monday.
She added that it "seems different" to the agreement Britain has
with Rwanda to send migrants to the African country. (ANSA).
