(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 4 - General Pasquale Angelosanto, former
commander of the Carabinieri military police Special Operations
Group (Ros), is to be appointed as the national coordinator for
the fight against anti-Semitism, Premier Giorgia Meloni said on
Thursday.
General Angelosanto is a "very authoritative figure to deal with
this matter", Meloni told reporters during her end-of-year press
conference.
He replaces Prefect Giuseppe Pecoraro, who was appointed to the
post in January 2023 and has resigned "for personal reasons",
the premier said. (ANSA).
