(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 9 - Premier Giorgia Meloni has spoken to
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in preparation for the
extraordinary European summit in Brussels on February 1, said a
statement issued by the premier's office at Palazzo Chigi on
Tuesday evening
"The two heads of government discussed the main international
and European issues ahead of the extraordinary European Council
on 1 February, focusing in particular on military and financial
support for Ukraine," the statement said.
"President Meloni also presented the priorities of the Italian
G7 Presidency," the statement added.
Italy holds the duty presidency of the G7 Group in 2024. (ANSA).
