(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 18 - Some678 million euro have been
allocated to the northern region of Emilia Romagna under the
Development and Cohesion Agreement signed by the government and
the regional authorities in Forlì on Wednesday, Premier Giorgia
Meloni said on Thursday.
These are "important resources that are concentrated on
strategic objectives such as development, growth, infrastructure
and the future", Meloni wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
"Emilia Romagna is the seventh region to sign the Cohesion
Agreement with the Government, but we will be coming to all
Italian regions," she added.
The funding has been made available under the European Union's
cohesion policy promoting social and economic development at
territorial level across member states.
On Wednesday Meloni visited Emilia Romagna together with
European Commission President Ursula Von der Leyen to take stock
of progress in recovery and reconstruction after the flood and
landslide emergency last May.
The EU has made available an additional 1.2 billion euro in
resources specifically for post-flood reconstruction and
prevention under a new measure contained in Italy's revised
post-Covid national recovery and resilience plan (NRRP). (ANSA).
