(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 12 - Students who occupy and damage school buildings should be failed, Education Minister Giuseppe Valditara said Monday reiterating that the government is putting together to make students criminally liable for damage to institutions and force them to pay for repairs.
"We are studying a rule to make the occupier, if he does not prove that he was not involved in the facts, civilly liable for the damage that was caused," said the minister after visiting a high school in Milan after an occupation that led to damages quantified at around 70 thousand euro.
"Whoever occupies, whoever commits a wrongful act, must answer for the damage.
"I believe that such students cannot be promoted to the following year." (ANSA).
