Not one to blame others when things go wrong says League chief

(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 27 - It is harder to win elections when you change your candidate midstream, Deputy Premier and League leader Matteo Salvini said Tuesday aftre the defeat in Sardinia of centre-right governor candidate Paolo Truzzu, who was imposed by Premier Giorgia Meloni over the League's initial choice and incumbent Christian Solinas of the Sardinian Action Party.
    "When you change a running candidate it is more complicated," said Salvini, who is also the transport minister.
    "It also applies to a mayor.
    "But I will never be the one who, when things go well, it is my merit and when things go wrong it is the fault of others", he said referring to Meloni.. (ANSA).
