(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 27 - League leader, Deputy Premier and Transport Minister Matteo Salvini said Tuesday the rightwing government is absolutely firm after a centre-right defeat in Sardinian regional elections.
"The government is absolutely firm. I am happy with what we are doing, what we are planning. After five consecutive defeats (in regional elections) I am pleased to know that (centre-left Democratic Party leader Elly) Schlein at least slept contentedly last night', said Salvini.
"Regional elections are important for citizens," Salvini added, "Sardinians have decided. Their vote or no vote, because almost half of Sardinians did not vote, must be respected. The Abruzzo people's vote I think will be profoundly different", he said referring to March 10 elections in the Adriatic region.. (ANSA).
