(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 21 - Premier Giorgia Meloni on Thursday
made light of a photo of her hiding her head in her jacket in
response to Green leader Angelo Bonelli's urging her "not to
look at me with those disturbing eyes" that made the front page
of the Wall Street Journal Thursday, captioned with Bonelli's
plea.
The PM said on social media: "I note the shock of various
members of the opposition because I replied to the words of the
Green leader Bonelli by ironically covering my face so as not to
raise anxiety in my colleague".
"I say sorry to my colleague and to anyone else may have
possibly felt frightened by me".
The incident occurred during a debate on the situation in Gaza.
The premier had just apologised for calling the MPs 'young guys"
when Bonelli said Meloni was scaring him with her steely eyed
gaze. (ANSA).
