(ANSA) - ROME, APR 16 - Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister
Antonio Tajani told an ANSA Forum on Tuesday that the fact Italy
holds the G7 duty presidency this year is an opportunity to
bring about peace in a war-torn world.
"We are always committed to the defence of our values to achieve
peace within justice," Tajani said.
"Peace will be the main goal of the G7.
"The important thing is unity: when you want to achieve a goal,
all the countries must have a common vision.
"Important messages in this direction have already been sent
out.
"We will work in Capri (at this week's G7 foreign ministers'
meeting) on this path as will the premier (Giorgia Meloni).
"Although rooted in the West, thanks to its tradition, Italy
will be able to play a leading role.
"Having Italy at the head of the G7 is an opportunity for
everyone to have peace". (ANSA).
