(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 13 - EU ministers on Monday gave the final
approval to a political agreement between the European
Parliament and the European Council on targets for emissions
cuts for heavy-duty vehicles despite Italy voting against.
Poland and Slovakia also voted against, while the Czech Republic
abstained.
The regulation sets the target of a 45% cut in emissions by
2030, 65% by 2035, and 90% by 2040, on top of the 15% target for
2025 already envisaged in current legislation.
The targets will apply to trucks weighing over 7.5 tonnes and to
private buses. (ANSA).
