(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 24 - The 2024 three-day meeting of G7
finance ministers and central bank governors got under way on
Friday at Stresa on the shore of Lake Maggiore.
With Italy holding the G7 during presidency, the sessions are
being chaired by Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti and Bank
of Italy Governor Fabio Panetta.
In addition to the delegations from Italy, Canada, France,
Germany, Britain, the United States and Japan, IMF Managing
Director Kristalina Georgieva, ECB President Christine Lagarde,
European Economy Commissioner Paolo Gentiloni, Eurogroup
President Pascal Donohoe and Ukrainian Finance Minister Sergii
Marchenko are also taking part.
Support for Ukraine via seized Russian assets is among the
issues on the agenda, as is the impact of artificial
intelligence on economic growth and US calls for an immediate,
united response to the problem created by Chinese excess
