(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 5 - Geert Wilders, the leader of Dutch nationalist PVV party, said Wednesday that he would like to be part of a single right-wing group at the EU level featuring Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni and Deputy Premier and Transport Minister Matteo Salvini.
The PVV is currently in the Identity and Democracy (ID) group with Salvini's League and Marine Le Pen's National Rally (RN), among others.
Brothers of Italy (FdI) leader Meloni is chair of the Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) group, which also includes Spain's Vox, France's Reconquest, Poland's Law and Justice and the Sweden Democrats.
"I have a lot of respect both for Salvini and Meloni," Wilders said at a rally in The Hague before the EU elections.
"If it were possible to form a broader group, I'd be enthusiastic about joining them". (ANSA).
