(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 12 - Milan can't waive the rule setting a 10-year term after a person's death for streets or squares to be named after them for Silvio Berlusconi, Mayor Giuseppe Sala said on the anniversary of the three time premier and media magnate's death Wednesday.
Milan was Berlusconi's home city and he is one of its most famous sons.
"No, derogations (from the 10-year rule) are impossible," Sala said.
"I repeat, there is respect for the person, but we will not make exceptions.
"I have said this several times, so we remain on this position".
Berlusconi died a year ago Wednesday at the age of 86 having dominated and divided Italian public life and opinion for decades. (ANSA).
