(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, JUN 17 - A European Commission spokesman
on Monday condemned "Fascist symbolism" when asked about a
Fanpage report on Gioventù Nazionale, the youth movement of
Premier Giorgia Meloni's Brothers of Italy (FdI) party.
The report featured a video of young people performing Fascist
salutes and chants of 'Duce' and Sieg Heil.
"The point of view of the European Commission and of President
Ursula von der Leyen on the symbolism of fascism is very clear:
we do not believe it is appropriate, we condemn it, we think it
is morally wrong." said EC spokesman Eric Mamer. (ANSA).
