(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 5 - Rome prosecutors on Friday obtained
footage of undercover videos made by leftwing journalist website
Fanpage into the youth wing of Premier Giorgia Meloni's
rightwing Breothers of Italy allegedly showing National Youth
(GN) members chanting Duce and Sieg Heil, hailing Mussolini and
far-right terrorists, and voicing racist, neoFascist and
antisemitic sentiments.
At the moment, no charges or suspects are being hypothesized.
Meloni has vowed to root out all those with 'nostalgia' for
Fascism and reiterated that the Italian right had consigned it
to the dustbin of history decades ago.
But she has been embarrassed by the Fanpage exposè, which has
led to two top GN officials resigning over antisemitic remarks
including one saying she wanted to see centre-left opposition
Democratic Party (PD) leader Elly Svhlein, who has Jewish roots,
impaled. (ANSA).
