(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 5 - Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on Friday criticized Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's decision to go to Moscow for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin days after his country took over the duty presidency of the EU.
"He is going to Moscow as Hungarian prime minister (not as EU duty president)," Tajani said on the sidelines of a press conference for his Forza Italia party.
"I don't think it's the time to visit Russia, but everyone can do what they want.
"The EU is favour of peace, but not in favour of surrendering to Putin: it must be peace, not surrender.
"Putin's proposal (to end the war) is a sham.
"We welcome dialogue and discussions, but we will continue to help Ukraine". (ANSA).
